Contracted with company to ship car from California to Lanai,Hawaii. Upon arrival to Oahu, notified battery dead. Flew to Oahu from Lanai Upon arrival , purchased a battery and headed to location of vehicle. Upon arrival, discovered the vehicle was wet on the interior driver side. No mention of condition in inspection report. Two DAS sub contractors, no one accepting responsibility for condition of vehicle. Towing, water extraction, repair/replace/labor to repair vehicle as a result. Advised by DAS to file claim. Claim denied. Incurred cost to have vehicle removed from repair. Storage fees to incur. Conveniently, DAS provided exclusions and terms and conditions disputing claim. Exclusion; electrical. However, electrical damage was a result of water infiltration. How did the water get into the vehicle? Incurred additional shipping charges as DAS would not accommodate original bill of lading to final destination when vehicle was repaired and ready to ship. Poor customer service. Insurance did not help us. Taking to small claims court. Anyone out there experience the same or filed with small claims court? ADvice, ask about insurance and what it covers.
