I requested a bulky item pick up on Monday, prior to my Tuesday trash day. The representative, who took my order, said that it would be picked up the following day--no problem.
It wasn't picked up on my trash day. I called in on Wednesday, and explained the missed pick-up. The company rep. said the truck is out and working until 6 p.m. It will be picked up. I made 6 daily follow-up calls, and was told each time that the pick-up would happen that day. It didn't. I had asked to speak to supervisors, but they all seemed to be in meetings or out of the office. Yeah, sure! We eventually had to drag the items back into our yard on Sunday morning. (Our neighbors were giving us "the look.")
I called in the problem again on Monday, the day before our next trash day. The rep. said the items would be picked up on Tuesday. They weren't. On Wednesday, I called and asked for the company's license to do business in Los Angeles County, and got it. I told them I was going to write a letter of complaint to the County about Allied's awful performance.
Within 15 minutes, a supervisor of Customer Relations left a message on my answering machine, telling me that a truck would be there in one hour. Interesting! Finally some action. However, 2 hours later, the items had still not been picked up. Bismal service. I called the supervisor's private number, and left the message that if a customer of mine was having such problems, I would take my personal car over and pick up the items myself! The items were picked up by a trash truck at 6:10 p.m.
Other problems: [1] Missed pick-ups of trash, re-cycling or green waste have occurred multiple times. We have had to call in for special pick-ups; [2] Customer service run-around and possible lying to customer; [3] Incompetence in communications between base and trucks in the field.
We're going to look around for another company--one that is reliable.
