Review 3/4/2010
|
I believe these people are using "Bait and Switch" tactics. Here's why:
I ordered a Seagate 500 GB eSATA external hard drive on 2/26/10. The cost was S175.99 + $27.78 for a total of $203.77. Although I considered the shipping to be outrageous, the savings was still very substantial considering the price on Amazon.com was $350.00.
I received a very prompt email that my order was confirmed and I would receive email notification when the product was shipped. On 3/3/10 I received an email telling me the following:
Dear Robert:
I got the Message from our purchasing Department , that MPN# ST3B00601XS-RK
is not available and they switched to similar MPN# ST905003BPA1E1-RK you see the specification below for same cost.
Seagate BlackArmor PS 110 ST905003BPA1E1-RK Hard Drive - 500GB -
please let me know, If it works for you.
I called them the following day and was told the Seagate product had been discontinued. I did some research on the "comparable product" they were offering and fount this product to be available through Amazon.com for $114.99, I also learned that it was not an eSATA drive, which would have totally worthless to me.
This stinks to high heaven to me, and I would warn anyone that is considering to do business with the company to STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
