Since I closed on my refinance in March, I have recommended Alex of Coastal Pacific Lending to many friends and family seeking home loans. I believe he is one of the best in the business for several reasons; he offers the best rates, makes the experience personal, and is extremely considerate.
My wife and I shopped around, asking friends, neighbors (some of whom were also brokers), and other brokers about their rates and experiences. Hands down, Alex offered us the best rates around. Within days of closing, my previous broker emailed me (spam) for new "low rates" a full point higher than Alex's rates.
Additionally, Alex shared his personal number with us, and was seemingly able to answer questions at any time of the day. He happily shared his "insider" perspective and we were even able to compare notes about the state of the industry.
During our discussions he was understanding and patient. At one point, a few days before finalizing our contract, my wife and I decided that we weren't ready to refinance for personal reasons. Alex had every right to express disappointment or frustration - he had been working with us for a few weeks - but instead let us know that he would be around whenever we were ready to move forward. A few months later, he reached out to us again and we were able to finish what we had started.
