HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Don't ever consider buying a car from these idiots! I was a repeat carmax customer until today. I tried to purchase an 09 mazda 6 from this location a week ago and worked out the details with my credit union and their business office. They had my title, my car and the check for the price of the car. However, there was a negative balance owed on my car that my credit union was going to roll into the new car. Because Carmax's computers are incapable of handling out of the norm circumstances their system was still showing a balance owed on the car. Even though there wasn't as far as the transaction was concerned. After a week of fighting with them and having them call their team of crackpot lawyers to review the paperwork they denied the sale of the car in fear that the credit union would come after them for my old car with negative equity. Even though the negative equity was now going to be on the new car.
They could not wrap their small brains around this concept because they a re a corporation and do business one way and one way only! They're like robots! If anything is out of the norm their little brains and inefficient computers go hay wire!!
So, Carmax lost a sale and a customer over a minor detail. They even had a letter from my credit union stating they will hold carmax harmless for the negative equity!
Never saw such insanity in my life.
Wescott Mazda in National City, CA happily sold me a car and worked with my special circumstances! I highly receommend them and DO NOT EVER CONSIDER BUYING A CAR FROM CARMAX!!!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
