I placed an order at California Numismatic Investments, inc for 100 ounces of generic silver coins. I was told that the order would be shipped out the same day if I wired the funds. I checked the next day for delivery and was told that all first time deliveries are delayed 10 business days to check for fraud. I was not given written confirmation of the order. I am a CPA and understand that if you send funds to a merchant and especially if there is a delay, you are at the mercy of the business being in business during the period. If the organization filed for bankruptcy or closed in the interim then you are out all your funds. In my case My question is if my intention is to be able to use the silver for currency, then I might be fraudently buying the silver. This investigation is not done independently, so that if they decide your purchase was for other that honest investment, then your probably out your funds. They just keep the money as liquidated damages. Don't do business with anyone like this unless you can walk with your precious metal or coins.
