The California Business Collector (CBC) is a SCAM! They obviously are going through the lists of newly registered businesses (in my boyfriend's case, an LLC); they send a $175 request, with a penalty of $250 if the request is ignored, for..... what they need the money for is really unclear.... and then you see in fine print: "THIS PRODUCT OR SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED OR ENDORSED BY ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY AND THIS OFFER IS NOT BEING MADE BY AN AGENCY OF THE GOVERNMENT. 39&3001(D) THIS IS A SALUTATION FOR THE ORDER OF SERVICE. AND NOT A BILL, INVOICE OR STATEMENT DUE. NO OBLIGATION TO MAKE ANY PAYMENTS; UNLESS YOU ACCEPT THIS OFFER."
It is appalling that no government agency has stopped these parasites.
