CFG charged us $3500 to do a loan modification, which they were never able to get for us in over a years time. They said it was our fault because we were unemployed but in the beginning they told us that we just have to make sure that we have a certain amount coming to us per month to qualify, which we had most of the time. They never refunded any portion of our money like they said they would. Also, in the beginning of the process, they advised us not to pay our mortgage and because we took this advice, we got so far behind on our payments that a notice of default was filed on our home. By that time, we couldn't make up the amount that we owe. CFG put us into a deep whole. I recommend doing the loan modification yourself or hiring an attorney.
