Well, I have been a customer for a year and had 5 accounts there. I have been banking since I was a child and have had checking accounts for over 20 years. I have never had a situation like this...
I guess my problem is that I don't understand Bank Atlantic's website. I made a deposit, a couple of days later it posted in the ledger and was added to my balance. I was never overdrawn. THE NEXT DAY I was charged 4 NSF fees at $35.00 each for debit purchases & a check that posted on the ledger after the deposit.
So, I don't know how it happened and I don't understand it. According to their website, I never was overdrawn until I was charged $140 in fees. I have closed the 2 savings accounts there and am going to close 2 checkings and a business account there. I lost trust in this bank and don't recommend it to people that live paycheck to paycheck.
How Bank Atlantic can do better -- Either the website is accurate and the bank made a $140 error in their favor or the website is inaccurate and the bank needs to fix it. If the website is accurate, I'd like my money back. I work very hard for the money I earn.
What I like about Bank Atlantic -- I will miss using their change machine in the lobby. My children really enjoyed saving their coins, and depositing them into their savings. I hope to find another bank with this perk.
