I was in a "not at fault" automobile accident about 9 months from this posting. During the first few months it seemed the AAA club was expedient in getting the short term costs (fixed car,provided rental etc) covered. However during the latter stages of negotiations, they have conveniently placed me into their long term claims department which I'm begining to believe encourages their workers to avoid phone calls. Oddly enough, I've provided the person handling my claims with all the information requested in a timely manner but it seems everything gets lost in their claims center black hole. We all believe we are paying insurance to protect us from getting hurt on the roads but in this instance I believe I've found an insurance company which can honestly claim that: "We will screw both you - our insured, and the people you hit".
